Like so many of you, I caught the “Hey-It’s a quarantine. I’m working from home. Why don’t I exercise?” bug. While it is obviously not as bad as catching Covid-19, there are times when I thought I might die. I mean, I got my free weights out, attempted a few sit-ups, felt like a rock star for a few days, aaaaannnnd quickly realized that I wasn’t going to turn into an ex-Baywatch star overnight. If I’m so sore afterwards that while taking off my sports bra -I accidentally restrain myself like Hannibal and require the jaws-of-life to cut me out- I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
However, I do run. I know, I know. Many of you are thinking- Nope. Not me. Not unless there’s a blue light special at Home Depot for a new grill and there’s only one left- or there’s a marketer with a clipboard chasing me down to tell me about how hard water stains can be avoided. I like running. I also run so I can drink wine and eat Nutella. That’s right. Nutella. I’ll eat it with a spoon right out of the jar along with a lovely rose’ just like a campsite raccoon. Nutella is like the Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream of spreads. It is there for me on rainy days while I watch movies and when I have late night munchies. It’s great in a smoothie when I’m practicing the harp or going over a new choreography. And a mundane lunch becomes an event when I include it in a peanut butter and banana sandwich- or maybe I just put it on the side to dip fruit in? Hmmm..maybe I’ll kick my crepes up a notch when family visits next week?
If you’ve never tried this extraordinary hazelnut, chocolatey goodness sprinkled with unicorn dust spread- I highly recommend you give it a go. Just don’t forget to throw in a few sit-ups now and again. Nutella. You’re welcome.
